An Incredible Day Of Caring 2024

United Way of East Central Iowa's 2024 Day of Caring was nothing short of inspiring.

We had four amazing volunteer groups working really hard at several of our Matthew 25 initiatives – each group contributing to the betterment of our community for United Way of East Central Iowa’s 2024 Day of Caring.

A big shoutout to Collins Aerospace who sent two groups of volunteers. One group worked hard at Cedar River Academy at Taylor Elementary revamped raised beds, enhanced borders, relocated dirt, and constructed garden trellises. Their second group put in some serious effort to set up a fence at our Cultivate Hope Urban Farm – from using an auger, to measuring and leveling the posts, to pouring the cement.

Major kudos to TransAmerica volunteers for also working at our Cultivate Hope Urban Farm They tackled heaps of garden weeding and expertly maneuvered large rocks to enhance our playground area.

And ImOn Communications absolutely crushed it at Groundswell Cafe, lending a hand with moving shelving units and preparing Good Meals To Go
for our Cultivate Hope Corner Store.
