Energy Audits by Green Iowa AmeriCorps
Preparing Your Home for Iowa Weather
Matthew 25 is a host site for the Energy & Community division of Green Iowa AmeriCorps, a branch trained to conduct free energy audit services on residential homes to assess a variety of factors contributing to a home’s monthly energy bill. During this free audit, AmeriCorps members assess things like water usage, electricity usage, air quality, and air flow throughout the home.

Weatherization
Home weatherization can be an effective tool in protecting your home from major damage in harsh weather conditions, and in reducing energy costs and consumption.
Following an energy audit, our Green Iowa AmeriCorps team provides weatherization services based on findings from the audit, such as patching insulation leaks with rope caulk. Direct installations of energy saving products, such as LED bulbs and low flow shower heads, are also available. These weatherization services are available to the homeowner at no cost.
